Risk stratification of sudden cardiac death in subjects with asymptomatic ventricular preexcitation: diagnostic value of non-invasive and invasive methods

چکیده
Abstract Introduction In subjects with asymptomatic ventricular preexcitation (AVP) guidelines recommend follow-up by non-invasive methods. However, in some patients accessory pathways (APs) show high-risk invasive parameters and risk of sudden death. Objectives To assess the association between stratification (NIRS IRS) AVP our center. Material methods Retrospective observational study 58 AVP, underwent NIRS IRS. Association (electrocardiogram, holter ergometry testing) IRS variables (AERP ≤250 msec, SPERRI atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia or AF, multiple APs) from electrophysiological (EPS), sensitivity specificity to predict a EPS were determined. Results Of (n=41), 55% had previously low-risk (n=11) while 78% (n=30) (p=0.05). A (S) 27% (E) 47% EPS. Conclusions population, 1 every 2 presented The present low S E for patients. Sudden cardiac death risk stratification.
Arrhythmic sudden cardiac death (SCD) may be caused by ventricular tachycardia/fibrillation or pulseless electric activity/asystole. Effective risk stratification to identify patients at risk of arrhythmic SCD is essential for targeting our healthcare and research resources to tackle this important public health issue. Although our understanding of SCD because of pulseless electric activity/asy...
متن کاملLeft Ventricular Diameter and Risk Stratification for Sudden Cardiac Death
BACKGROUND Left ventricular (LV) diameter is routinely measured on the echocardiogram but has not been jointly evaluated with the ejection fraction (EF) for risk stratification of sudden cardiac death (SCD). METHODS AND RESULTS From a large ongoing community-based study of SCD (The Oregon Sudden Unexpected Death Study; population ≈1 million), SCD cases were compared with geographic controls. ...
متن کاملInvestigation of Invasive and Non-invasive Methods to Accelerating Dental Movement in Orthodontics
One of the most important concerns of patients is the need for orthodontic treatment, is the long duration of treatment and pain and discomfort during treatment. Also, long duration of treatment, is associated with increased caries risk, root resorption and gingival recession. Reducing the duration of treatment reduces the complications of orthodontic treatments and at the same time increases p...
متن کاملRisk stratification for ventricular arrhythmias in ischaemic cardiomyopathy: the value of non-invasive imaging.
The introduction of the implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) has had a major impact on survival and treatment of patients with ischaemic cardiomyopathy. However, only a third of patients receive appropriate ICD discharges during the first 3 years of follow-up, hence creating opportunities for improvement in patient care as well as for health care costs containment. Therefore, refinement...
متن کاملSudden Cardiac Death Predicting the Future Risk Stratification for Sudden Cardiac Death in Patients With Left Ventricular Dysfunction
Risk stratification for any disease is, in many ways, medicine’s attempt to predict the future. The challenges in risk stratification for sudden death, however, may be unparalleled in medicine. Although the many types of sudden death all present with similar phenotypes, risk stratification efforts generally center on the prediction of death resulting from either ischemic or arrhythmic events. T...
